Lake Zurich waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack 38-36. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bears' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Wolfpack are ranked 17th).

The win got Lake Zurich back to even at 6-6. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will welcome Zion-Benton at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, they will host Bulls College Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
