Basketball Recap: Andrew Walter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neumann Regional Academy over Muncy

Neumann Regional Academy lost against Muncy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights lost to the Muncy Indians on the road by a 64-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Indians are ranked 252nd).

Several Golden Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Walter, who posted 18 points. Walter's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daiton Thompson, who scored 15 points.

Muncy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Rogers out in front who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists. Those 17 boards gave Rogers a new career-high. Kenneth Hampe was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Neumann Regional Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Muncy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Neumann Regional Academy will face off against Bucktail at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neumann Regional Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. Muncy has already played their next game (against South Williamsport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
