Beaver Local and River View squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but Beaver Local had to settle for second. They fell  3-1 to the Black Bears. The Beavers have struggled against the Black Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 Beaver Local started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 27-25, 25-16,  30-28.
 Eva McKnight paced Beaver Local's offense, picking up 12 kills. McKnight got some help from  Bria Boyd and her 33 assists.  Taylor Pease controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
 River View found their leader in sophomore  Audrey Buxton, who  had eight  digs and two  aces.
Beaver Local's loss dropped their record down to 22-3. As for River View, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record  this season.
 Beaver Local does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River View, after both having extra time off, they and Meadowbrook will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
