Basketball Recap: Terrell County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stewart County last Tuesday, Terrell County came back down to earth. The Terrell County Greenwave fell 60-51 to the Randolph-Clay Red Devils on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-45 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Terrell County still got an impressive performance from Cordarius Perry, who posted 16 points. Perry's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dominique Polite, who put up 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randolph-Clay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jes'Us Daniels, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Daniels a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleen Gibson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Terrell County's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Randolph-Clay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Terrell County has already played their next match, an 88-42 defeat against Westover on the 18th. As for Randolph-Clay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-41 win against Calhoun County on the 18th.
