Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dirigo's offense. They fell just short of Madison by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Oak Hill came out on top against Hall-Dale on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Kaileb Littlefield and Braden Dubuc were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Littlefield pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Dubuc pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Littlefield went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Dubuc went 2-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Braden New was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Kaleb Langlois was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Oak Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Oak Hill's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Dirigo, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
