It was a good run, but Downers Grove South unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Normal West Wildcats by a score of 2-1. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jayda Dixon paced Downers Grove South's offense, picking up 11 kills. Dixon got some help from Niya Mincheva and her seven assists.

Downers Grove South's loss dropped their record down to 27-8. As for Normal West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-14 record this season.

Downers Grove South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hancock on the 28th. As for Normal West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Centennial on the 28th.
