The Lone Grove Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Plainview 65-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Plainview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacelyn Hammon, who scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals. Hammon hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marya Southerland, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lone Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Plainview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Lone Grove will head out on the road to square off against Madill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainview, they will be playing at home against Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
