The Battle Mountain Longhorns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 82-59 margin over Sierra Lutheran. Battle Mountain has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 23 points or more this season.
Leading Battle Mountain to victory were Adan Nevarez and Geovanni Ruvalcaba. Nevarez dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Ruvalcaba scored 27 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Stuart, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Despite the loss, Sierra Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Marcus Jones, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds. Jones is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was John Salonites, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Battle Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Sierra Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-16.
