Pontiac is 8-2 against Illinois Valley Central since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pontiac Indians will be playing at home against the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts at 7:00 p.m. Pontiac knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Illinois Valley Central likes a good challenge.
On Saturday, Pontiac was able to grind out a solid win over Normal West, taking the game 60-49.
Illinois Valley Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 79-56 defeat at the hands of St. Joseph-Ogden. While losing is never fun, Illinois Valley Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while St. Joseph-Ogden is ranked 46th).
Pontiac has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Illinois Valley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Pontiac strolled past Illinois Valley Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 75-59. Does Pontiac have another victory up their sleeve, or will Illinois Valley Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
