Garces Memorial is 1-9 against Centennial since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rams will venture away from home to take on the Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Garces Memorial will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Hanford on Tuesday. The Rams blew past the Bullpups 13-3. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The team relied heavily on Izzy Frye, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Brooklyn Castro was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Garces Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanford only posted an OBP of .389.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Centennial made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bakersfield Christian last Wednesday. The Golden Hawks were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Golden Hawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.
Reese Stover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lundyn Harrison was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Maycee Boronda also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Garces Memorial's record is now 12-5. As for Centennial, their record now sits at 9-6.
Garces Memorial skirted past Centennial 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
