The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 86-64 loss at the hands of JAG. While losing is never fun, Stanhope Elmore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while JAG is ranked 18th).
JAG got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ladarius Givan out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of JaMicah Adair, who scored 25 points.
Stanhope Elmore has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for JAG, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Stanhope Elmore and Fairhope will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th at. Fairhope has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 503 points over their last seven matchups. As for JAG, they will head out on the road to face off against Prattville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prattville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
