Biggsville West Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelby Bowman, who scored 18 points. Bowman scored a full 37.5% of Biggsville West Central's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Meyer, who scored 11 points.
Biggsville West Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Mendon Unity, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biggsville West Central will take on Annawan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Annawan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Biggsville West Central in Illinois (Annawan is ranked 19th, while Biggsville West Central is ranked 212th). As for Mendon Unity, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Quincy Notre Dame at 11:00 a.m. Quincy Notre Dame will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
