Softball Recap: Daviess County Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

There's no place like home for Daviess County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let the Owensboro Catholic Aces get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Sadie Morris was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Newman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Daviess County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owensboro Catholic only posted an OBP of .133.

Daviess County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Owensboro Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daviess County will face off against Castle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Owensboro Catholic, they will challenge Madisonville-North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
