Softball Recap: Kingston Has No Trouble Against Ubly

Kingston owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Ubly Bearcats as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The Cardinals were shut out 1-0 the last time they took on the Bearcats, so the Cardinals were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Chesaney Wenzlaff, who gave up just six hits to keep Ubly off the board. Wenzlaff has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Piper St. George, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brianna Rayl, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Kingston now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ubly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Kingston will square off against All Saints Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ubly, they will take on Brown City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Green Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
