Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Davenport, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Davenport is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Ethan Hendrick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Senior got themselves on the board against Crestline on Wednesday, but Crestline never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs. The Tygers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Sean Tanner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Joshua Malone was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Page, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mansfield Senior, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Mansfield Senior's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rogers has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. It's a different story for Mansfield Senior, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Rogers' hitters?
