Baseball Recap: Seekonk Extends Winning Streak to Three

Seekonk entered their tilt with West Bridgewater on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 7-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 two weeks ago.

West Bridgewater's batters probably weren't too happy with Cole Arruda, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up two walks). Arruda also allowed no hits, which is notable because Seekonk is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Austin Robinson and Johnny Payne did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Payne went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Payne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colin Lush, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Seekonk's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for West Bridgewater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seekonk will venture away from home to square off against Apponequet Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Bridgewater, they will head out to take on Cohasset at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
