Sadly, the Sandhills Valley Mavericks are still looking for their first win of the season after 20 games. They were beaten by Perkins County 55-19 on Friday. Sandhills Valley was down 37-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Perkins County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Libby Cole, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cole hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Katie Cook, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Sandhills Valley dropped their record down to 0-20 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Perkins County, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Sandhills Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perkins County, they will take on St. Patrick's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Perkins County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
