The Eastern Ramblers will take on the McKinley Tech Trainers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, Eastern didn't have quite enough to beat Northwestern and fell 12-11.

Lucas Campbell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Eastern's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 4-9-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Roessner, who earned one RBI, two runs, and five stolen bases.
Meanwhile, McKinley Tech never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Ballou as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trainers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Coby Diediker was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Owen Jacobs was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
McKinley Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
McKinley Tech is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-1 record this season.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eastern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like McKinley Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .587. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern came out on top in a nail-biter against McKinley Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will the Ramblers repeat their success, or do the Trainers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
