It was a good run, but the Milton-Union Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-30 to Covington. Milton-Union was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Covington apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Brumbaugh scored a full 46.7% of Milton-Union's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Shannon Brumbaugh was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Milton-Union's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Covington, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton-Union will finish 2023 at home by hosting Newton Local at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Covington will finish 2023 at home by hosting Arcanum at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Arcanum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
