After five games on the road, O'Neill is heading back home. They will take on the Ord Chanticleers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, O'Neill didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Plainview, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory.
Drew Morrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. Another player making a difference was Colton Osborne, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ord strolled past Broken Bow with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 62-45. Given Ord's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Broken Bow is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
O'Neill's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ord, they pushed their record up to 9-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for O'Neill against Ord in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-38 victory. With O'Neill ahead 37-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
