It was a good run, but the Ridgeline Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. Their rough 71-51 defeat to AZ Compass Prep National might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ridgeline Academy has scored all season.
Ridgeline Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayci Muessig, who scored 20 points. Muessig is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nadya Gutierrez, who scored 18 points.
Ridgeline Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-1. As for AZ Compass Prep National, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Ridgeline Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Maricopa Institute of Technology at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for AZ Compass Prep National, they will play host again and welcome Eduprize, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eduprize will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 110th, while AZ Compass Prep National is ranked 15th).
