Softball Recap: Male Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Male waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Great Crossing Warhawks, sneaking past 4-2. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warhawks, too.

Hannah Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Male's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Miller, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Male hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Great Crossing struck out nine times.

Male's win bumped their record up to 23-8. As for Great Crossing, they moved to 11-10 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Male will welcome Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Great Crossing, they will challenge Eastern at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
