The Gretna Dragons were the  45-27 winner over the Lincoln East Spartans when they last played one another  back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The  matchup between Gretna and the Spartans wasn't particularly close, with the Dragons falling  61-44. Gretna was down  58-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
 Despite the  loss, Gretna saw an underclassman step up:  Maggie Miller  scored 16 points.  Emma Martin was another key contributor,  scoring eight points.
 Gretna has  not been sharp recently as the team's  lost nine of their last ten matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Lincoln East, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-9.
 Gretna will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Omaha Central is coming into the  game on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln East, they will head out on the road to  square off against  the Panthers at 5:45  p.m.  on Friday. Norfolk is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
