Meanwhile,  Jones   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Wickenburg is 3-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 0-3 otherwise. At bat,  Hone  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Jones  scored two  runs and  stole  Three bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave  Jones a new career-high in  stolen bases.
 In other batting news, Wickenburg let  Caleb Hadley and  Jaxon Newman run wild. Hadley  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Newman  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. Those  three  runs gave  Newman a new career-high.  Larry Wilcox was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Wickenburg has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record  this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.3 runs. Highland Prep West is  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wickenburg will host Northland Prep Academy  at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Highland Prep West, they will welcome Coronado  at 3:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Coronado has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.8  runs per game on average), something Highland Prep West will no doubt try to take advantage of.
