Baseball Recap: Coleman Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

Coleman won the last time they faced Eula and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bluecats blew past the Pirates 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Bluecats, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Edington made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Edington was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Paul Salas was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kyle Chambers was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coleman has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eula, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coming up, Coleman will be playing in front of their home fans against Ballinger at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Bluecats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Eula, they will venture away from home to face off against Gorman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
