After two games on the road, Idea Academy is heading back home. They will take on the IDEA College Prep Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Idea Academy's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so the Griffins' offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, Idea Academy beat the 35-24.
Layla Perez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Idea Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloe Bernal, who scored six points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for IDEA College Prep, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-28 loss to the on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, IDEA College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while the are ranked 352nd).
Idea Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for IDEA College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Idea Academy strolled past the Griffins in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 35-16. Does Idea Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
