If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Scappoose. On Friday they take on St. Helens at 7:00 PM. St. Helens will be strutting in after a victory while Scappoose will be stumbling in from a defeat.
After a string of three wins, Scappoose's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a hard 27-47 fall against Pendleton. Scappoose's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Matthew Roth, who rushed for 124 yards and 1 touchdown.
Meanwhile, St. Helens were able to grind out a solid win over Wilson, winning 42-35. The success made it back-to-back wins for St. Helens.
Everything came up roses for Scappoose against St. Helens the last time the two teams met as the team secured a 62-6 win. Will Scappoose repeat their success, or does St. Helens have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
