The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They really took it to Ray for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-28 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-15.
When it comes to explaining why Ray lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malena Goad. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
BASIS Phoenix is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Ray, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-19.
BASIS Phoenix won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Maryvale Prep: 29.8, BASIS Phoenix: 28.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Ray does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
