Stetson Miller was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooks Hamilton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs.
Central Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasanton only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Crest had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Jayhawks 18-2.
Will Disbrow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Disbrow was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Crest got a massive performance out of Kade Nilges, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Nilges is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Kole Walter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Crest's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Central Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central Heights hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. However, it's not like Crest struggles in that department as they've averaged .397. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central Heights suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Crest in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
