Leading High Point Academy to victory were Johnasia Wilkins and Chantel Lyles. Wilkins scored 8 points along with 19 rebounds and 8 steals, while Lyles dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lyles has scored at least 25% of High Point Academy's points. Cherri Yates was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
High Point Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Spartanburg Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
High Point Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Greer Middle College at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Greer Middle College is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Spartanburg Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Carolina Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Carolina Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 two weeks ago.
