The Bothell Cougars had to endure  a  nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the  74-47 stomp they got  on the road  against Marysville-Pilchuck. Bothell's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
 Leading Bothell to victory were  Jarell Fermon and  Jaylen Mclaughlin.  Fermon  scored 16 points along with nine  rebounds, while  Mclaughlin  scored 23 points along with six  rebounds. Those six  rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.  Bryson Bell was another key contributor,  scoring four points along with 17  rebounds and five  assists.
 Bothell's victory bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Marysville-Pilchuck, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
 Coincidentally,  the pair will both be playing Arlington the next time they take the court. Bothell will head out to face Arlington at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday, while Marysville-Pilchuck will head out to face them  at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
