On Friday, while it was the Moriarty Pintos who put the first points on the board, it was the Taos Tigers who put up more. Moriarty fell 21-12 to Taos. Moriarty has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Moriarty lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Quintana. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards. Quintana really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.
Mateo Salazar was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 164 yards while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Reggie Suazo was another key contributor, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Moriarty has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Taos, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Moriarty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taos will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Aztec at 1:30 p.m. on November 4th.
