Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Brad Mossor of
Princeton is the 2025 MaxPreps West Virginia High School Football Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior athlete led the Tigers to a 14-0 record and Class AAA state title – the school's first.
For the season, Mossor snagged 93 receptions for 1,510 yards and 14 touchdowns to go with 125 carries for 939 yards and 28 more scores. He added two defensive scores, three punt return touchdowns and took a kick return to the house.
Mossor led Princeton to a 36-35 win over Nitro in the state championship game, piling up 260 total yards and five touchdowns including three in the fourth quarter.
In the quarterfinals, Mossor helped Princeton avenge a 2024 postseason loss to Herbert Hoover (Elkview) by scoring five touchdowns in a 41-35 win.
The following week, Mossor led the Tigers to a 27-0 win over Spring Valley (Huntington) in the semifinals with 217 total yards and three touchdowns.
Mossor announced via social media earlier this week he landed his first Division I offer from Morgan State.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
