After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paradise Valley, the North Canyon Rattlers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 59-46 victory over Central. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Canyon also won the last time the pair played back in January.
North Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Adams, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Adams is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Trinity King, who scored 13 points along with seven steals.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lia Sims. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 37 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Sims' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Valeria Valenzuela was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
North Canyon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
North Canyon will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fairfax at 5:30 p.m. Fairfax is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Paradise Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paradise Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
