Berlin Brothersvalley can attribute much of their success to McKelvey Foor, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 20 points and three steals, and Carson Janidlo, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Foor is becoming a predictor of Berlin Brothersvalley's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 7-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Haydon Hutzell, who posted six points and five rebounds.
Berlin Brothersvalley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, McConnellsburg took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 68-26 win over Westinghouse. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.
McConnellsburg's win came from a few key players Berlin Brothersvalley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brayden Ramsey, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 24 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024. Hoyt Glenn was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and four steals.
McConnellsburg's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their record now sits at 10-11.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Berlin Brothersvalley and McConnellsburg are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Berlin Brothersvalley hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.2 points per game. However, it's not like McConnellsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Berlin Brothersvalley beat McConnellsburg 59-48 in their previous matchup back in March of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berlin Brothersvalley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
