Amistad and the Lions are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Amistad Wolves will be playing at home against the Bassick Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bassick took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Amistad, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Amistad took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 48-8 victory over the Owls.
Amistad relied on the efforts of Fatema Thomas, who scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks, and LaShaya Patterson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Patterson is crushing the block category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Latoya Craig was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Bassick came up short against the Mustangs on Thursday and fell 45-32. Bassick has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The victory got Amistad back to even at 8-8. As for Bassick, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
