The Friendly Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the High Point Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Friendly and 21 for the Eagles dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Friendly had to suffer through a rough 64-31 loss at the hands of the Yellowjackets. Friendly has struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, High Point pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parkdale. High Point found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ibrahim Turay, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Daniel Eze, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Friendly has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for High Point, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16.
Everything came up roses for Friendly against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 80-42 win. Does Friendly have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
