After a string of three wins, the Queen Anne's County Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 54-41 to Southern.
Southern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sidney Shaw, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Wooster, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Queen Anne's County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Southern, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Queen Anne's County will take on Cambridge-South Dorchester at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Southern won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Thomas Stone at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. Thomas Stone has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
