Basketball Game Preview: Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs vs. Estes Park Bobcats

The Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Estes Park Bobcats at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Addenbrooke Classical Academy has four straight wins, Estes Park has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Addenbrooke Classical Academy really took it to Front Range Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-10 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Addenbrooke Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reena Lanzen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Lanzen a new career-high in steals. Brynleigh Politsch was another key player, putting up five points and six steals.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Estes Park came up short against Stargate School on Friday and fell 33-21.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34 points. As for Estes Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy came up short against Estes Park when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 35-22. Can Addenbrooke Classical Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
