Ellis fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Republic County 42-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Ellis, who have now won three contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Ellis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Russell, who threw for 216 yards and five touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Carson Schartz, who gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ellis' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Syracuse, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 33-8 walloping at the hands of Oakley on Friday. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Syracuse struggled afterwards.
Ellis is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Syracuse, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-6.
