Basketball Recap: CSI International Studies Takes a Loss

It was fun while it lasted, but CSI International Studies's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Sunday. They took a blow against the Moore Catholic Mavericks, falling 64-25. The matchup marked CSI International Studies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Emma Costanzo was a one-woman wrecking crew for Moore Catholic as she posted 13 points along with six steals and five assists. That's the most assists Costanzo has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brianna Caliri, who had ten points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, CSI International Studies fell to 7-1. As for Moore Catholic, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

CSI International Studies and Moore Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. CSI International Studies will square off against Erasmus Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday up 278 places (151 vs. 429). CSI International Studies' defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Moore Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Moore Catholic (ranked eighth) will meet Notre Dame Academy (ranked 83rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. CSI International Studies is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
