The Old Forge Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Riverside Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Old Forge knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Riverside likes a good challenge.
Old Forge's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Greater Nanticoke Area 15-0. Considering the Blue Devils have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kamryn Notari was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joselyn DeStefano, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danica Pritchyk, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Riverside's offense. They lost 12-0 to Mid Valley on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Old Forge's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Old Forge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Old Forge's way against Riverside when the teams last played back in April, as Old Forge made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
