Ridgeline Academy hasn't had much luck against Heritage Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Heroes at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ridgeline Academy will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Imagine Prep Superstition on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 20-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ridgeline Academy let Maddie Martinez and Gretchen Clower run wild. Martinez scored three runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4, while Clower went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Clower has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makenna Hepting, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Heritage Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 31-0 margin over Imagine Prep Superstition. The Heroes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Francesca Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Sarahi Rico was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Emily Person was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Heritage Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Ridgeline Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ridgeline Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .487. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
