That result was just more of the same for these two, as Newtown also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Newtown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was J.j. Haddick, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Taylor did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bunnell is ranked 26th, while Newtown is ranked 14th). As for Pomperaug, they will head out on the road to face off against Joel Barlow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Joel Barlow is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
