Softball Recap: Ferndale Wins Going Away Against St. Bernard's

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Fork, Ferndale was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over the St. Bernard's Crusaders. Considering the Wildcats have won five games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Danica Dowd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Madison Gossi was another key player, going 2-for-6 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Ferndale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for St. Bernard's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Ferndale will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Bernard's: the pair will be back at it again later today.
