On the hitting side, Lyon County got a massive performance out of John Bingham, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Bingham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Lyon County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livingston Central only posted a batting average of .318.
Meanwhile, Henderson County posted their closest victory since May 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Evansville Central, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colonels.
Cole Thompson tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brody Belt was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Lyon County's record now sits at 9-4. As for Henderson County, their record is now 4-9.
