AAA District 8 recap September 10, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tullahoma, who defeated 107th ranked Shelbyville Central, 36-33. Hunter Myers threw for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 12 yards during the win.
The Wildcats scaled the state rankings by moving to 184 from 236 this week, the biggest jump in AAA District 8. Tullahoma was able to make move up by topping the Golden Eagles 36-33.
Shelbyville Central's dynamic duo of Mason Cunningham and Tyler Eddings proved to be unstoppable against John Olive's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cunningham threw for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns and Eddings had 182 yards receiving. Malik Trollinger helped Shelbyville Central's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 44 yards.
Jason Hardy's team's dynamic duo of Cunningham and Eddings proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Eddings was the best wideout in the league this week as the Golden Eagles fell to Tullahoma.
Ryan Golden was the best running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 224 yards as Lincoln County lost to the Wildcats. Teammate August Hill added to the ground attack by rushing for 177 yards.
Cunningham put up the best numbers through the air as the Golden Eagles fell to Tullahoma.
Golden was a beast in the backfield as the Falcons beat Franklin County.
He went 16-29 with 1 interceptions.
Shelbyville Central's Cunningham and Eddings have formed a dream team this season, leading AAA District 8 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Cunningham has thrown for 736 yards this season, while Eddings has 18 catches for 441 yards. Lincoln County's Hill leads the league in rushing yards with 402.
Columbia Central took down Coffee County Central 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
