After losing to the Andover Central Jaguars the last time they met, the Haysville Campus Colts decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Haysville Campus walked away with a 63-53 victory over Andover Central on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Haysville Campus has won by exactly ten points.
Haysville Campus had a senior duo take command as Andrell Burton, Jr dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds and Drake McPherson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Burton, Jr has scored at least 25% of Haysville Campus' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaason Thomas, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Jefferson, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jace Adler, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Haysville Campus and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Andover Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haysville Campus will take on Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Andover Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Derby at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
