The Beaufort Academy Eagles had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Orangeburg Prep by a score of 25-13 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Beaufort Academy also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Beaufort Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaxen Porter, who rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Dietrich Shuford was another key contributor, rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Beaufort Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Tres Delaney and his two sacks.
Beaufort Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Orangeburg Prep, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-7.
Beaufort Academy will challenge Williamsburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg Academy will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Orangeburg Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
