The Lodi Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Lodi came up short against Lake Mills and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, Lodi can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Lake Mills is ranked 19th).
Meanwhile, Lakeside Lutheran waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 70-59 win over Belleville.
Lakeside Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Wes Rahn, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Rahn has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Kaycee Guzman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Lodi dropped their record down to 6-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lakeside Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Lodi suffered a grim 72-51 defeat to Lakeside Lutheran in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Lodi, Levi Birkholz (who scored 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
